DIMES

Dimes represents a time so pure. No pressure, no expectations, just pure flow. Dimes was born the first time me and Alex, my wonderful producer on my first three independent tracks. Dimes is about “putting on your shoes again” and trying again and again and again and.. AGAIN. It’s also a stream of conscious within that ongoing journey, sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down. Put you just have to put your shoes back on and go.

VESTIGES

Vestiges was created the second time I met up with Alex. I was reading a book that day that had the word ‘vestiges’. I took note of it. Got to the studio, Alex asked me to play him some stuff for inspiration, we were only just getting to know each other. I played this very mellow, chill song. He created a loop and that’s when the magic began. He starts figuring out the chords, I work on the chorus. It’s a beautiful matrimony, two worlds so similar, yet polar opposite, collide. We almost speak the same language yet we don’t whatsoever. As I was writing this I thought how funny it is, that’s exactly what Vestiges is about but in a completely different way.

Blurred Lines

Blurred Lines was the first time I felt like I was able to see that I can create a story, set a scene, with music. To really create a world from within. It represents a very… strange period of time in my life. What’s funny is until this day, I sort of have a hot and cold, love and hate relationship with it. I guess it was destined to stay in that space, where the lines are outwardly always blurred

Friday night

I’ve always loved to sing. It was my biggest kept secret. I never thought I could ever sing in front of anyone, ever. It was my therapy. I was reading Rick Rubin’s book and I came across a page that shifted my entire perspective. He said, (don’t quote me) “ those who let passion outweigh fear (of singing) become singers.” Next day I went to the studio and recorded a demo. I started sending my demo out to different producers. Demm Deep reached out few months after I sent the demo with a track that needed a female verse…. thus Friday Night was born.
